The CalAmp executive leadership team brings a world of experience.

CalAmp’s strategic leadership comes from a solid base of worldwide experience in technology, from connected vehicles to networking to public safety to energy and beyond. The executive team has years of expertise in both start-up and enterprise environments designing software and hardware for a wide variety of applications.

Jason Cohenour, Interim Chief Executive Officer

Jason Cohenour was appointed a director of CalAmp in June 2019. Cohenour served as the president, CEO and director of Sierra Wireless, Inc. from 2005 until June 2018, and held other senior management positions with that company, including COO, from 1996 until 2005. He also served as a director of Ikanos Communications, Inc. from 2014 until August 2015, when that company was acquired by Qualcomm, and Epic Data International, Inc. from 2004 to 2010.

Cohenour has a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.

Jikun Kim, Chief Financial Officer

Jikun Kim joined CalAmp as Chief Financial Officer in January 2023. Prior to joining CalAmp, Jikun served as the Chief Financial Officer at Momentus Inc. where he successfully navigated through a challenging de-SPAC process and then operated the public company. Prior to Momentus, Jikun served as the Chief Financial Officer of public and private companies operating in the semiconductor, 3D printing and aerospace and defense industries. In many of his roles, he has consistently showcased an ability to build business platforms that generate predictable future revenue growth and cash flow. Jikun holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley, MS in Electrical Engineering from UC Los Angeles and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Brennen Carson, Chief Revenue Officer

Brennen Carson joined CalAmp as chief revenue officer in June 2022. A high-energy and customer-centric senior sales leader, Carson is known for delivering record-breaking growth by driving targeted sales strategies and building high-performing sales teams to support company growth objectives. He has had extensive success in the software-as-a-service and fleet technology industries, directing cross-functional small-to-medium-sized business, mid-market and enterprise teams to consistently outperform top-line revenue targets.

Prior to joining CalAmp, Carson served as senior vice president of sales for driver performance company Idelic where he was responsible for successfully scaling the business, developing effective revenue delivery models and leading and growing a high-performing sales team. Under his sales leadership, Idelic’s mid-market revenue and pipeline value increased by a triple-digit percentage. Prior to Idelic, Carson served as vice president of sales, North America, for Fleetmatics. After its acquisition by Verizon Connect, he continued to lead a sales team of over 700 employees, growing average revenue per customer and increasing multi-product sales for new business.

Carson holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Northeastern Illinois University and is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.

Maurizio Iperti, President, EMEA

Maurizio Iperti is President of EMEA for CalAmp. Iperti joined LoJack Italia in 2008 as General Manager and his role was expanded to encompass LoJack Europe and an interim role leading global sales operations.

He has transformed LoJack Italia from a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) start-up to a leading provider in the transportation and logistics space, with more than 320,000 active subscribers across a number of channels. He has cultivated significant relationships with a number of Auto OEMs, Dealer Groups, Insurance Providers and Rental Companies, and positioned LoJack as a leading pan-European provider. Following CalAmp’s acquisition of Tracker UK, Maurizio has lead the efforts to transform the business by growing active subscriptions.

With more than 20 years of executive experience, prior to joining CalAmp, Maurizio served in key roles with Pirelli Tires and MOMO (Wheels, Racing and Tuning) in Russia, Sweden, and California.

Iperti holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Business Administration from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan.

Mark Gaydos, Chief Marketing and Product Officer

Mark Gaydos is the Chief Marketing and Product Officer at CalAmp responsible for leading CalAmp’s worldwide marketing and product teams to help organizations understand the value of automating and optimizing their transportation and logistics processes. Gaydos joined CalAmp in January 2022 and brings more than 25 years of enterprise software marketing experience helping technology companies establish leadership and rapidly grow revenue.

Before joining CalAmp, Gaydos served as the CMO at Nlyte Software where he led marketing and sales development (SDR) teams to drive software revenue growth within the IT infrastructure marketplace. Prior to Nlyte, as senior vice president of marketing at Engine Yard, he drove marketing strategy and demand generation for the leading cloud application solution (PaaS) provider. Prior to that he held a variety of marketing leadership roles at enterprise companies including Oracle and SAP.

Gaydos has an M.B.A. in management science from San Diego State University and a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Nathan Lowstuter , Chief Supply Chain Officer

Nathan Lowstuter is senior vice president of global supply chain and operations at CalAmp and responsible for all supply chain and logistics across CalAmp’s global operations and contract manufacturing. Lowstuter joined CalAmp in June 2020 and brings over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in global supply chain, quality control, lean manufacturing operations and project management.

Before joining CalAmp, Lowstuter developed and scaled high-performing supply chains for mid-sized venture-capital and private-equity companies across several industries, including electric vehicles, logistics and event services, solar, and commercial refrigeration. Additionally, the foundational period of his career was spent at large Fortune 100 companies including Honeywell (commercial vehicles & aerospace), Boeing (space & communications) and FedEx. He has expertise in building results-driven teams and functional process and system infrastructure to support growth, profitability and customer needs.

Lowstuter earned his MBA from the University of Southern California and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing Expert from Honeywell.

Richard Scott, Chief Legal Officer

Richard Scott is senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at CalAmp and oversees CalAmp’s global legal affairs, compliance, corporate governance and secretarial functions. Scott joined CalAmp in 2021 and brings over 25 years of global legal experience in contracts, intellectual property and transactions across multiple verticals including technology, energy and transportation.

Serving in both public and private global companies across diverse industries, Scott has led legal teams dedicated to pragmatically assisting companies in successfully achieving their strategies, growing their business and mitigating risks. He has advised his clients on business and transactional matters in North America, South America, the Middle East and across Europe.

Scott joined CalAmp from Verra Mobility Corp. (NASDAQ: VRRM), a global leader in smart transportation solutions. Prior to Verra Mobility, Scott served in roles of increasing responsibility for Husqvarna Group and Occidental Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: OXY). Before moving to Occidental Petroleum, he practiced with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Simmons & Simmons LLP in both Los Angeles and London.

Scott holds a first-class bachelor’s degree from the University of Durham, UK and completed his legal studies at the University of Law in London, UK. He began his career as a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, was admitted to practice law in California in 2002, and is also admitted in Arizona.

Monica Van Berkel, Chief People Officer

Monica Van Berkel has global responsibility for the acceleration of the company’s growth through human resources leadership, recruitment, and development of top-industry talent, and for building a strong corporate culture centered on engagement, agility, and innovation.

Monica joined CalAmp in 2015 and currently serves as senior vice president of human resources. With more than two decades of experience in high-tech companies, Monica brings extensive knowledge and experience in working with large cross-functional projects, handling mergers and acquisitions, and designing robust short- and long-term incentive plans. Under Monica’s leadership, CalAmp was honored to receive Cigna’s Well Being Award 2021 for an outstanding culture of well-being.

Monica is a trusted human resources leader. Born to immigrant parents, Monica as a second-generation Latina understands all too well the importance of creating diverse and engaged teams that enable the extraordinary. Throughout her 20-year career, she has delivered comprehensive people programs, led large-scale end-to-end business initiatives (including corporate reorganizations, divestitures, and integrations of global M&A activities), and driven cultural transformations.

Before joining CalAmp, Monica served as the chief administrative officer at EMCORE Corporation from 2004 to 2015 where she was responsible for both the human resources and information technology functions, setting their strategies and ensuring their alignment to the business. Earlier in her career, Monica held key human resources roles at companies such as First Data Corporation, Gateway, Western Digital, and Hoya Corporation.

Monica holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in administration of justice from San Jose State University.
